On July 7, 2022 contemporary artist Katie Southworth announced that she will be moving into a new studio space on August 1, alongside her partner and fellow artist, Joe Taveras. The new space, located in the greater boston area, is over 2,000 square feet and will allow both artists to explore new realms of their creative processes. Southworth, whose mission has always been to promote wellness and joy through vivid color and precise vertical lines, says that she is, “more sure than ever that [her] work needs to be as large as possible to create the impact that [she] envisions and reach the people who need it most”. The new studio space will allow Southworth to do just that.
In anticipation of the move, Southworth has announced that eight of her original works that are currently residing in her SoWa studio space will be 15% off through the end of July. “Each painting is a rare piece from various collections created over the last year,” says Southworth.
